Welcome to the Ioway, Otoe-Missouria Language Website The last of the fluent Ioway, Otoe-Missouria Elders passed away in the winter of 1996. There are only a handful of semifluent speakers. This website has been created as a knowledge resource for academic, cultural and language multi-materials that will benefit the specific tribal communities, Siouan studies, amplify the present knowledge of the resident indigenous communities of the Southern Plains, and assist the younger generations in their desire to know about their heritage and language.
